The Moscow Kremlin - 600 years old fortress, a magnificent citadel of the tsars and the Armoury - the royal treasury

The Kremlin’s territory and museums open daily, except Thursdays, from 10 am to 5 pm

the entrance fee for the Kremlin with the tour guide is $18 per person

the entrance fee for the Armory-the Royal treasury with the tour guide is $28 per person

It is better to do the citadel before 4 p.m because it is the residence of the president and Kremlin’s keepers start clearing the territory of visitors at 5 pm.

Ticket offices open daily, except Thursdays, from 9.30 am to 4 pm. The Armoury Chamber has seances at 10 am, 12, 2.30 pm, 4.30 pm. And if you do it say at 4.30 pm you can easily stay there until 6 pm.


Itinerary

We'll visit Cathedral Square a breathtaking architectural ensemble of the 15th-17th centuries, where the life of Russian grand princes and tsars started and ended, the Annunciation Cathedral were they were baptized, the Assumption Cathedral where they were crowned, the Archangel Michael where they were buried.

In Assumption Cathedral you’ll see one of the oldest Russian icons the 1000 years old icon of Saint Gorge. Every inch in the Cathedral is covered with frescoes telling the story of Virgin Mary and Jesus the story of Old Testament prophets, Russian saints and the Last Judgment.

Imagine, you’ll find yourself in a huge medieval book. You’ll be able to stand exactly in the same place where czars and emperors used to stand during coronation ceremony. You will see the tomb of Bishop Philip Kolychev- the first Russian political dissident and the main antagonist of Ivan the Terrible. It's worth seeing!

Then we can do the Armory (the royal treasury) if you want where you’ll look at the beautiful royal carriages, czar’s crowns and Faberge eggs. You'll see a unique collection of trophy Napoleon’s cannons and famous 55 tons Czar Cannon. You'll learn a lot about the life of the citadel under Ivan the terrible, Vladimr Lenin, Josef Stalin and Mr.Putin. And for sure you’ll have your picture taken in front of 200 ton’s Czar Bell.

The Novodevichy convent (Wed. - Mon.,2 hours)

The most beautiful of fortified orthodox cloisters of Moscow which was founded in the early 16th century by Basil III. We can visit the Novodevichy cemetery as well where leading cultural and political figures are buried. Among them are playwright Anton Chechov, writer Nikolay Gogol, Nikita Khrushev, Michael Gorbachev's wife Raisa, Stalin's wife Nadezhda Allilueva etc.
